Toward the end of his life, the Enola Gay’s pilot, Paul W.Japan surrendered after a second atomic-bomb attack on the city of Nagasaki three days later, bringing World War II to an end.It is thought to have killed 80,000 people immediately, with tens of thousands more dying later of radiation sickness and injuries.
It was the first atomic-bomb attack in history and destroyed the city.
